Rotronic was founded in 1965. It is privately owned, and is managed by the Schroff family. The company is positioned as an internationally aligned trading and manufacturing company, and offers the most varied solutions for dealers and industrial customers. Its lines of business include products for measuring humidity and temperature, everything to do with IT accessories and networking technology, solutions in the areas of 19″ equipment and uninterrupted power supply for safety systems, and all types of measuring devices.

The group realises about 60% of its turnover abroad. In humidity and temperature measurement, the company is one of the strongest players worldwide. The 9 subsidiaries are located in the main global markets, such as the USA, China, Singapore, the UK, France, Italy and Germany. The newest branch office was opened in Milan in 2010.

Lines of Business 
Humidity and temperature measuring devices – Swiss precision at the highest level. 
Rotronic has been manufacturing humidity measuring devices since 1967, and this is the line of business with the most pronounced international orientation. Rotronic measuring devices are in use in the most varied of sectors. The in-house developed humidity sensors in the Hygromer series are the obvious choice wherever exact measurement of humidity and temperature are of vital importance: in the foodstuff and pharmaceutical industries, in the print and paper sector, in meteorology and agriculture, in drying processes, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, and many other applications. Rotronic customers not only rely on sophisticated sensor technology, but have access to a global sales network, and with an officially accredited SCS Calibration Lab, our standards of quality are at a permanently high level.

IT accessories and networking technology – technology for pros
The core business is the marketing and manufacturing of IT accessories and networking technology. Computer shops, the retail trade and industrial customers can find more than 40,000 IT products at Rotronic. The house brands Roline and Value make high-quality IT accessories available to dealers and the industry at attractive prices and interesting profit margins.

Consumer electronics – Samsung, Samsung and Samsung 
The 1st of April 2011 saw the creation of a further business base: Rotronic Consumer Electronics: exclusive access to and marketing of Samsung Consumer Electronics. The latest Samsung line-ups, fast availability, cash and carry at the Bassersdorf shop – and all this at the best prices.

19″ equipment and measuring devices – honouring tradition
Right from the founding of the company, the products of the famous assembly manufacturer Schroff were included in the portfolio. This was the start of a long tradition in the area of electronic packaging – combined with plenty of know-how and lots of successful projects. Today, Rotronic is regarded as a potent partner in the context of 19″ cabinets, offering the brands apra-norm, Irinox and the in-house brand Roline in addition to Schroff.
